CurlBOX Owner Myleik Teele Gives BBG the Inside Scoop On Her Business, Love for Natural Hair, and Go To Products

Hi There!

I’ve recently become a guest blogger on Beautiful Brown Girls. Check out my first guest post. Enjoy!

Do you have naturally curly/natural hair or considering to go natural? If so the one of thing for sure that is common amongst every natural hair lady is that we spend a lot of time and money trying to find the products that work best for our hair.

In addition to starting up a natural hair blog, I am an avid follower of the natural hair community. Over the last few months I had been reading about something called CurlBOX. Initially, I completely didn’t know what this was. Though as I began to find out about it, I was quite intrigued to learn of this subscription-based service for naturally curly hair care products. Then I thought what a genius idea!

CurlBOX, is  an exclusive, affordable and effortless way to explore new hair care products which are delivered to subscribers each month. Monthly subscribers receive 5-7 quality hair product samples for a $20 monthly fee. In the CurlBOX you find hair care products from established brands as well as some up and coming brands.

Eden Body Works “Consolation Prize”

About a month ago I entered EDEN BodyWorks‘ Eco-Glam Ambassador contest hoping for a chance to become the brands’ Eco-Glam Ambassador.

Although I was not chosen, the company showed their appreciation by sending me an EDEN BodyWorks Peppermint Tea Tree gift pack along with a bonus of Eden’s new JojOba Monoi product.

A few weeks had passed from when I received the email explaining that I won the “consolation prize”. So, when I was greeted one morning by a FedEx delivery of the gift pack I was so pleasantly surprised. Here are the goodies I received:

I’ve missed my blog….

I’m finally getting a moment to catch up with my blog and give a fill in to everything that has kept me away from blogging. I’ve been m.i.a. for the last few months because I relocated from Ohio to S. Florida. I made a 1,300 mile move across country to start a new position with my company. A move that was a bit unexpected and happened really quickly.  Continue Reading

My weekend find: Jane Carter Solutions at Marshalls

One of my favorite things to do is to prowl the accessories and clearance isles of places like TJ Max, Marshalls, Nordstrom Rack and Target. I was at Marshalls on Friday and saw that they are now carrying some of the Jane Carters products. Needless to say, I got excited. I’ve always been interested in trying products of this line because I’ve only heard good things. I bought the Jane Carter Solution Wrap and Roll My weekend find: Jane Carter Solutions at Marshalls. This is known to work well with smoothing out  natural hair when doing styles like roller sets. I will be trying a roller set with this in the near future so stay tuned for the results and review. Enjoy the rest of your weekend! My weekend find: Jane Carter Solutions at Marshalls

My natural hair care pampering sessison

Happy belated 4th of July!

So, I’m seeing where I’m developing this pattern (that I will soon be breaking) of being a little late with some things. Happy belated 4th of July :). I hope everyone enjoyed and had a safe holiday. Over the holiday weekend, and a few days after, I was in much need of some overdue rest and relaxation. So, I “checked out” for a while icon smile My natural hair care pampering sessison I enjoyed some much needed me time, pampering myself with a mani & pedi, facial and some special treatments to my hair.

Over the holiday I also enjoyed a cookout or two, good food, good people, a few glasses of wine, hanging out by the pool, getting a little sun, working out, reading an inspiring book, a tad bit of shopping and watched the fireworks. All things that I don’t get to enjoy enough of on a regular basis. Long overdue and I really enjoyed it all. Now I’m feeling a bit more re-energized and ready to tackle those things that are ahead of me. [Read more…]
