Staple styles or go to styles are the styles that you style your hair in on a regular basis, usually your signature look. Currently I am alternating between 3-4 staple styles that I wear my hair because I like variety. I chose my staple styles because once the styles are achieved they are low maintenance, allows for low to no manipulation and I can keep my hair well moisturized and conditioned while wearing these styles.
Wash & Go
My staple styles during my nurture & healing challenge are: Wash & Go this is a style that I achieve by washing, conditioning, applying leave-in conditioner and styler while wet, then let air dry. This style is easy to do, lasts me close to a week and turns out very cute.
Twist & Curl (Wet)
Twist & Curl (Wet) – I achieve this style by twisting my hair in 12-15 twists and roll the ends with flexi rod rollers while its wet (after washing, conditioning, or cowashing and applying stylers) and allowing to set by air drying.
Twist & Curl (Dry)
Twist & Curl (Dry) – With this style I achieve it by washing, conditioning, applying leave-in conditioner and letting my hair air dry. Usually the next day I detangle and stretch out my hair, apply styler and twisting my hair in 12-15 twists and roll the ends with flexi rod rollers, letting it set for a day or more.
Flat iron – Though my goal is to minimize the use of heat on my natural locks as much as possible, I do flat-iron when it is time for a trim. Which I am currently pacing around every 3-4 months. These are my current staple styles, they are quite convenient and easy to do and I look forward to wear them during the summer months.
